The original park opened in 1970 and the modern incarnation now hosts two flagship experiences each year: - **Autumn at Oz** — the world's largest Wizard of Oz festival. Held every September–October. - **Tea with Dorothy & Aunt Em** — an intimate musical comedy + tea experience. Limited summer dates. Founded by entrepreneur Grover Robbins and his brothers Harry and Spencer Robbins (owners of Carolina Caribbean Corporation). Designed by Jack Pentes from a child's perspective. Famously associated with Debbie Reynolds, who invested in the park and displayed her own Wizard of Oz costume collection in its museum. ## Key links - Homepage: https://landofoznc.com/ - Autumn at Oz Festival: https://landofoznc.com/autumn-at-oz - Tea with Dorothy: https://landofoznc.com/tea-with-dorothy - Tea with Dorothy 2026 early access: https://landofoznc.com/tea-with-dorothy/early-access - Our Story: https://landofoznc.com/our-story - Park History: https://landofoznc.com/history - Getting Here: https://landofoznc.com/getting-here - FAQ: https://landofoznc.com/faq - Health & Safety: https://landofoznc.com/health-safety - In the News: https://landofoznc.com/in-the-news - Contact: https://landofoznc.com/contact ## Press accolades - *Washington Post* — "Number One Tourist Attraction" (June 1970) - "Top Tourist Attraction in the South East" — multiple newspapers, 1970 - "Disneyland Quality" — 1970s critical consensus - World's Largest Wizard of Oz Festival (modern-day Autumn at Oz) - Tripadvisor Travelers' Choice Award — top 10% of global attractions - Featured by the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources for its place in NC tourism history ## More A deeper brand brief lives at https://landofoznc.com/llms-full.txt.
